About Mark Oickle
Wood, hammer and nails - have long been a part of my life. Growing up, I worked with my family building a new home and several large renovation jobs. We were definitely a do-it-yourself kind of family - especially when it came to building.
After high school, I completed the two-year carpentry course at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) in Bridgewater. Fresh after NSCC, I landed a job in the carpenter’s shop in Bowater, followed by four years working with a local contractor.
During that four year timeframe, I studied at the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology (NSIT) earning both my Journeyman Certificate in Carpentry and designation under the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program. The Red Seal designation enables me to work in any province or territory in Canada.
I then decided to start my own construction business in partnership with a friend. We parted company a few years later, to run our own separate construction businesses.
Now after almost 25 years of running my own business, I have had the pleasure of working with many dozens of clients - helping bring their ideas to reality. There have been routine jobs, highly-detailed jobs, and challenging jobs. But when the job is finished, I always leave our clients happy - and keen to refer us to family and friends.Mark O
Our Crew and Subcontractors
Our construction crew is a ‘team’ who work well together and know how to be productive. Many of Mark’s five man crew have been working with Mark for 10, even 20 years.
Each of us takes a real pride in our work. We firmly believe that building with care, and attention to detail, yields the best results for you.
For most construction projects, we rely on skilled subcontractors for specific trades. Over the years, we have established relationships with reputable subcontractors we know do quality work at a fair price.
Good working relationships mean work can be scheduled and co-ordinated among all the crew on a construction site. All contributing to meeting target construction completion dates.
All our construction crew are covered by Workers’ Compensation (WCB)
